Cloning

Cloning is making a genetically identical copy of an individual. The cloning of Dolly, a lamb genetically identical to its mother; and subsequently other animals has caused considerable controversy. Dolly was euthenized in February of 2003 following complications from a lung infection. She lived for eight years which is about half the normal lifespan for sheep. She is survived by several offspring.

This animation (Audio - Important) describes how Dolly was cloned.
