Textbook

You may use either the First, Second, or Third edition of the textbook:

C. Starr, C. A. Evers, and L. Starr, Biology Today and Tomorrow With Physiology, 2010, Third Edition which will be available downstairs in the bookstore. It has a frog on the cover.

OR

You may be able to find a used copy of the first or second edition of the textbook and that will work fine for the class as well:

C. Starr, C. A. Evers, and L. Starr, Biology Today and Tomorrow With Physiology, 2006 or 2007, Second Edition, ISBN number: 0-495-01654-0 (it has a black cover).

OR

C. Starr, Biology Today and Tomorrow, 2005, First Edition (it has a white cover).

Going by the ISBN number can get a little confusing because it seems to change depending on what the publisher packages with the book. Also, if you are checking the bookstore online, several options may be listed including an online version. You only need to purchase one textbook whatever version you choose.

One copy of each textbook will be on reserve in the library. I recommend that you buy the book to supplement your web readings. At the beginning of each lecture, I will list the pages of the textbook that correspond to the information in the lecture. First read the information on the web. Then, if you need further explanation, you will find additional information in the textbook.

In the textbook, the topics are presented in a different order than we will be following in the lectures.

The relevant page numbers for all three editions of the textbook will be given at the beginning of each lecture.
