• I = Immune
• HR = Highly Resistant
• R = Resistant
• O = Some Resistance
• S = Susceptible
• HS = Highly Susceptible
• 1 = low susceptibility
• 2 = intermediate susceptibility
• 3 = high susceptibility

Definitions (from Phytonematology Study Guide, UC DANR Publication 4045):

• Immune plants - do not allow nematode attack, including initial root invasion.
• Resistant plants - may be invaded by nematodes and may show damage, but chemical or physical unsuitability of the plant will prevent population increases.
• Susceptible plants - allow normal nematode reproduction and may or may not tolerate nematode attack.
  • Tolerant plants - are able to withstand nematode attack, whether they are hosts or not.
  • Intolerant plants - are more likely damaged by nematode attack
