SUGARBEET CYST NEMATODE POPULATION INCREASES:

LOCATION EGGS/GRAM OF SOIL PRE-PLANT EGGS/GRAM OF SOIL AT HARVEST YEARS OF ROTATION WITH DECLINE OF 50%/ YEAR REFERENCE

This data from the literature demonstrates the types of population increases that occur during planting of a crop of sugarbeets.

Knowing what the population is at harvest and the expected rate of population decline, the number of years of nonhost rotation that will be needed can be predicted.

In this example, 50% is chosen as an average figure for the Imperial Valley although the actual range is from 49-80%.
