A split application procedure can be utilized if it is desirable to improve nematode control in the top few inches of soil.
Appropriate rates for various soil types are provided in the Telone II chart. The first steps in the split application procedure are similar to those for a single application and the higher rate of the two indicated (30 gallons per acre in this example) is applied.
After waiting at least 10 days (longer if soils are relatively wet or cold), the top few inches of soil are turned under and a second treatment is applied at the lower rate indicated by the chart (20 gallons per acre in this example). The shank spacing is similar but the injection depth is shallower.
