HALOGENATED HYDROCARBON NEMATICIDES:

TARGET SITES OF HALOGENATED HYDROCARBON NEMATICIDES: Relatively little is known about the mode of action of any nematicide. Considerable effort by researchers at UC Riverside was put into determining the mode of action of two halogenated hydrocarbon nematicides (EDB and DBCP) which are no longer available for use in California. They were found to affect alkylation reactions of proteins and respiration.

Concern that the length of them for which a nematicide would be able to maintain an EPA registration was limited, has tended to stiffle research on mode of action.
